This two-day seminar on Emotional Growth will be made up of four integrative workshops which combine counselling and KEG cards. The workshops which will be both informative and experiential will include:
WORKING THROUGH VARIOUS TYPES OF TRAUMA
The aim of this workshop is to give the participants the opportunity to use KEG cards to narrate the story of this event in such a way that the discussion will help them reduce the SUDs (Subjective Unit of Distress) connected to the Trauma and to experience a better understanding of the Trauma and its effects. The participants will be able to use KEG cards effectively with their own clients and their Traumas.
RECOGNISING AND RESOLVING ATTACHMENT ISSUES
The aim of this workshop is to give the participants the opportunity to understand the different types of attachment and how these can be explored by using the KEG cards. This will help experience a better understanding of the types of attachment and their effects. The participants will be able to use KEG cards effectively with their own clients to help them accept their own attachment style and to change it if they choose to.
IDENTIFYING EARLY WOUNDS AND SOOTHING THE INNER CHILD
The aim of this workshop is to give the participants the opportunity to understand early childhood wounds and how to deal with them by demonstrating childhood incidents and events that they are familiar with, either from their lives or the life of a client. The participants will be able to use KEG cards effectively with their own clients to help them explore their childhood issues and accept these by responding to them more positively. This workshop is based on connecting to the implicit knowledge of an experience within memory that is known without words but rather has the sense of an innate preverbal knowing that could have somatic influences on the adult.
WORKING WITH COUPLES: MAKING ADAPTIVE CHANGES AND REDECISIONS
The aim of this workshop is to give the participants the opportunity to use KEG cards effectively with their own clients and their couples issues. KEG cards will help to understand what drew them together and what causes difficulties between them today. The participants will experience family conflicts that they recognize & choose, either from their own lives or the life of a client and which emanate from problems in the spouses’ relationships and gain a better understanding of the couple relationship and its effects.KEG cards are an innovative structured projective therapy tool for eliciting emotional and relational responses. The cards may be used with individuals and groups, and may be implemented by various professional including psychologists, psychotherapists, counselors, family therapists, therapists working with persons suffering from Alzheimer’s and school counselors. The importance of the cards is that they by-step the defense mechanisms and go straight to the core issues using Counselling theories such as Rogers, CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy), Redecision therapy, Gestalt, and TA(Transactional Analysis).
